The mapping

The treaty instruments governing transnational family relationships

Within the Mediterranean Observatory, this thematic observatory is dedicated to the mapping and analysis of the treaty instruments governing transnational family relationships, with particular regard to European–non-European models.

The monitoring work covers international conventions and bilateral agreements concerning family matters, minors, judicial cooperation, successions and international mobility.

The observatory constitutes the scientific basis for the work of the Italy-Morocco Commission and for the Policy Papers on family cooperation.

From monitoring to proposal

The scientific basis of the Italy-Morocco Commission

The analysis of treaty instruments feeds into the work of the Italy-Morocco Study Commission and the Policy Papers series on family cooperation: the comparative mapping of existing models is the starting point for the study of transnational family relationships between the two shores of the Mediterranean.
